ABOUT JACQUE’S CATERING

A BUSINESS BUILT ON BELONGING

At Jacque’s Catering, every meal is an invitation—not just to taste something delicious, but to feel at home. What began in 2009, driven by Jacque’s passion for cooking and sharing Kenyan flavors with West Michigan, has grown into a beloved brand celebrated for its warmth, professionalism, and community spirit. We cater weddings, festivals, corporate gatherings, markets, and more—always with the goal of bringing people together through food and belonging.

Our partnerships with local African grocers and neighborhood markets—like Safari’s, K&D Foods, and Famous Mediterranean—honor our roots while strengthening the people who support us. Every dish uplifts our community as much as it delights your taste buds.

Meet Jacque

Jacqueline “Jacque” Obuchi was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, before moving to Michigan in April. She began cooking traditional recipes for friends, church groups, and pop-up events—and before long, word-of-mouth turned her passion into a thriving catering business. Known for her professionalism, compassion, and genuine Kenyan warmth, Jacque approaches each event like she’s cooking for family. With her, you’re not just hiring a caterer—you’re embracing Kenyan culture and hospitality.

Kenyan cuisine is bold in flavor, not heat. At Jacque’s Catering, we meticulously balance spices to elevate—not overpower—each dish. From aromatic goat stew and creamy coconut rice to sweet plantains and perfectly seasoned collard greens, our menu tells a story of heritage and home. Most of our spices and ingredients come directly from Kenya or are sourced through our trusted West Michigan African grocers—ensuring authenticity in every bite.
